Before moving to New York, Philip Caulfield interned for Inside Lacrosse magazine, where he wrote about men's college and pro lacrosse for both the magazine and the company's website, InsideLacrosse.com.

He graduated from Loyola College in Maryland in 2003 and spent three years as a media buyer and manager for a small, privately owned web advertising agency in Washington, D.C. before making the move to journalism.
