Housing artists

New York City has marketed various affordable housing complexes toward the artist community. Most of these government-subsidized facilities base their rents on the occupants' incomes. Most apartment prices fall way below Manhattan's average rent of $2,400 - with some residents of Manhattan Plaza paying as little as $500 per month. Click on the theater-mask icons to learn more.

For more information, contact the Actors Fund (800-221-7303), or the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcla/html/home/home.shtml).
