Katya Soldak is orignally from Kharkov, Ukraine. She has worked for CBS News Productions and other NYC production companies that make documentaries for the History Channel, Discovery Channel and PBS.

Before moving to the U.S. in 2000, she wrote for local newspapers and produced shows for a Kharkov TV channel.

She holds a M.A. in English, Russian and literature.
