David Cohn graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. Since then, he has been published in the New York Times, Wired News and Columbia Journalism Review, among other publications. As a "geek writer," he has mostly focused on science and technology. His interest in technology enabled him to develop the content management system that powers NewAssignment.Net, where he is also an editor, working to conceptualize and implement various experiments in networked and citizen journalism in the age of Web 2.0. Maureen Googoo is a proud Mi'kmaq from Nova Scotia, Canada. She has worked as a reporter in print, radio and television for nearly 20 years in Canada, where she has devoted much of her career to covering Aboriginal issues. A graduate of Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Maureen is learning to combine her skills by specializing in new media at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.

Anna-Katarina Gravgaard is a Danish-born journalist studying in New York on a Fulbright scholarship. She is a part-owner of two local newspapers in Copenhagen, "Kartoflen" ("The Potato") and "Strandvejens Lokaltidende." Anna has worked in journalism since she was 13 and is mainly interested in how media creates communities. She has an M.A. in English studies, has traveled in more than 20 countries and worked in Scotland and Belgium.

Brian Clark Howard spent five years as managing editor of E/The Environmental Magazine and has written for Connecticut Magazine, The Green Guide, Alternet, Oceana and Britain's Ergo Living. He was a finalist for the 2005 Reuters/IUCN Environmental Media Awards and co-edited the book Green Living. Howard lives in Connecticut with a neurotic cocker spaniel and three wily cats.

Lorenzo Morales is a Colombian journalist who recently moved to New York. Paul Suwan, a native New Yorker, did most of his growing up in such places as Valparaiso, Ind., and Exeter, N.H., before finding his way back to New York.
