The store is manned by a collective of trained volunteer staff.
BOWERY POETRY CLUB
The selection is mainly comprised of poetry or literary zines. Creators get 60 percent of generated sales.
OTHER MUSIC
In general, Other Music carries half-a-dozen music zines and are placed with the mainstream magazines.
BLUESTOCKINGS
No standard consignment arrangement zines. They cost anywhere from $1-$6 and range in topic, from political to personal memoir, with a bulk of titles from local zinesters. It’s an important part of the store and the bookstore’s core mission, says Geoff Albores, a staff member.
ST. MARK’S BOOKSHOP
St. Mark’s has a wide variety of zines. They have a 60-40 consignment agreement with zine creators. Zines are placed on the rack for up to 3 months. Then, zine creators are sent any remaining copies and encouraged to submit new issues, according to the store's buyer Margarita Shalina.
