Nature in the Park

An oasis for weary urbanites looking to escape, if only briefly, Manhattan's blocks of steel, cement and brick, the park is home to eight bodies of water, 275 species of birds and 26,000 trees.

Man-made though it may be, nature thrives in the green rectangle at the center of the city.
