The
events listed below are all sponsored by, or being held to support,
the National Office of Slow Food U.S.A. They are being held in the

March 1, 2003 - Slow Food Boston has paired up with
the Canadian Consulate in Boston and the Canadian Trade Commission
to present a very special event showcasing Canadian artisanal products,
producers and purveyors.
March 10, 2003 - Slow Food U.S.A. will sponsor a
Foie Gras tasting at the French Culinary Institute in New York City,
including a presentation on the sustainable use of all parts of the
foie gras duck.
April 14, 2003 - Slow Food U.S.A. will present a
seminar on Korean food at the French Culinary Institute in New York
City.
May 10, 2003 - Slow Food U.S.A.'s third annual Brooklyn
Pig Fest will take place at Brooklyn Brewery featuring Niman Ranch
pork (endorsed by the Animal Welfare Institute), D'Artagnan organic
chicken, side dishes from Whole Foods Market, and the magic touch
of North Carolina Barbecue champions Jim "Trim" Tabb, Bill
Eason, and Kevin Cowan.
May 2003 - Slow Food Central New Jersey will organize
an event to inaugurate the Delaware Bay Oyster as a Presidia product
in an effort to ensure a future for this piece of New Jersey history.
May 30-June 1, 2003 - The Slow Food U.S.A. Congress
of all 120 convivium leaders will take place in Vermont at Shelburne
Farms and the Intervale community farming facility. The 2003 leader
Congress will provide a venue for leaders to meet, exchange ideas,
and ratify Slow Food USA's first Constitution, which will provide
an infrastructure of governance empowering its leadership and creating
a sustainable future for the organization.
June 29-July 1, 2003 - Slow Food will have a stand and present
a seminar at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City on artisanal
beers from New York State.
July 10, 2003 - Slow Food U.S.A. will present a seminar
on farmstead raw milk cheeses that are part of the Slow Food/American
Cheese Society cheese consortium at the French Culinary Institute
in New York City.
Aug. 20, 2003 - Slow Food U.S.A. will present a seminar
on heritage meats (lamb, turkey, beef) at the French Culinary Institute
in New York City.
