Car show night in Flushing, Queens means 39th Avenue steams with engine smoke, and bass-heavy systems thump hip hop hits all the way from Main Street to the scrapyards.
Over 8,000 mostly male, mostly Asian and Latino youth pack the street outside the Import Xpressions Car Show, checking out the latest candy-colored Supras and pimped-out Benzes.
They hover over slick
paint jobs, admiring tiny dashboard LCD TV's
that cost over $600 each. Half-naked girls sprawl across the hoods of
cars and pose in front of engine parts.
