A view of Roosevelt Island from the tram. The two-and-a-half mile sliver of land stretches from 44th street to 94th street. The island boasts over 3,000 housing units, six historical landmarks and plenty of green space. The smokestacks in the background are from a Queens powerplant.

The island's only church- The Chapel of Good Shepherd Church was completed in 1975.

A view from the tram on a relatively clear afternoon. The ride between Roosevelt Island and Manhattan takes roughly four-and-a-half minutes.
